Become who you are meant to be...
Into Magnificence... What does it mean actually? Becoming better than you are now? No, it’s not that. You are good the way you are. Actually, you are perfect the way you are.
“Into” is clear; we move into the direction of Magnificence, and we reach it. But what do we mean by Magnificence? Doesn’t magnificence imply to strive very hard to do the best in life, and excel at what you’re doing? No. It means to return to who you are, so that you can become who you were meant to be. You are Magnificence. In your core you are magnificent. It’s just who you are. It's in your blueprint. And when you return to your essence, you’ll excel at what you’re doing as a result; you simply bring magnificence to life.
“How come I don’t feel magnificent?” you might ask. Let us dive into this…
For years, I’ve given workshops and sessions in True Voice, an intuitive “method” to free the voice, affecting everything else as well: the whole body, and definitely life. What if I told you that 100% of the people in my workshops and sessions come with some sort of expectations, or – in many cases – demands of their voice… Let’s say that we told a child: “Oh, yes, you’re welcome, come on out, by all means… but you better be exactly like THIS, and NOT like THAT!” How welcome would the child feel, you think? Would he or she dare to come out at all? And how about next time, after it was made clear that it was NOT ok the first time?
What do you think our voice does in this same situation? Exactly, it doesn’t come out freely anymore. And we think we can’t sing. Let’s take it to the next level: what do you think our authenticity, our originality does in the same situation? Exactly! And now we believe we are broken somehow. There must be something wrong with us, and we need to be fixed.
Wrong! Back to the voice... There is nothing wrong with anyone’s voice. Seriously, everyone can sing! (Except for when there is a real physical problem, like not having vocal cords, of course.) I have never met anyone in my life, not even in my workshops, who really couldn’t sing. Even though I’ve met many who were convinced they couldn’t sing. Actually, about 80 or 90 percent of my clients is running that belief. But after only one workshop or session they have a totally different experience:
"We all thought we can’t sing at the start of the workshop. After just one session, Lisette proved me wrong, and guided me to find my own voice. The effects of the workshop have carried through to my everyday life, and I have found more confidence in my own self expression."

So what’s the secret? It’s not about learning to do it better. We have tried that path, right? For a long, long time already. The secret is actually in un-learning to do it better... When we let go of the demands we put on ourselves, our body releases its – even chronic – tensions, and the voice can flow. You can flow. Life can flow through you. You are beautiful the way you are, without the need to sing beautiful, or be “beautiful” (the component of action I'm referring to here). There’s nothing you need to do to be beautiful, or magnificent. You are perfect the way you are, including your weaknesses, flaws, errors and mistakes. And when people allow their voice to flow, without controlling the outcome, there’s a VOICE, oh my God, so Magnificent, like you’ve never heard before! Those of you who have had the privilige to attend a True Voice workshop, can probably attest: the WOW moment in every session. (Especially great in groups! I love the amazement in the group at that moment, every time again!)
But let’s get back to the topic. There's nothing wrong with anyone. There’s nothing wrong with anyone’s voice. It might be just hidden, and playing safe. And neither is there anything wrong with anyone’s authenticity, originality, Essence. There is nothing wrong with you. You don’t need to be fixed. You are not broken. What you might need though, is a bit of guidance back home, to yourself, to your very own Essence, where your Magnificence awaits. It’s who you are.
Are you ready to return home, step into your true potential, and become who you were meant to be?
